On April 9, the Ontario government announced that strong mayor powers, which give greater authority to municipal leaders, will be granted to an additional 169 municipalities.
By David Briggs Verified| The Hamilton Spectator (Hamilton, ON) Verified Mattawa residents and regional neighbours came out this past Saturday to support a very worthy cause – raising funds for the North Bay Cancer Clinic. Organized by Sheri Wabie, the event, Dance for Someone You Love, raised $23,000 for the clinic. The cause was close to Wabie’s heart, as her father, Ernie Lamirante, is battling cancer. He’s receiving treatment at the North Bay Cancer Clinic, and the people there have given him such great care and have been so kind. Wabie knew she wanted to give back.
