The redistricting is being carried out by state Republicans who hold a super majority in both the House and Senate. On Friday, October 1, the Senate voted 36-12 to adopt House Enrolled Act 1581 redistricting plan. Later that day the Republican controlled House voted 64-25 to adopt the measure.
