Fire lookouts continue to relay new fire start information as they are found from these storms. Precipitation from the storms ranged from zero to a half inch in scattered areas.
By David Smigelski Verified| Rogue Valley Times Verified The Holiday Fire, one of the two largest fires in the Smith River Complex that has closed Highway 199, crossed into Oregon Saturday morning, according to a news advisory from the Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forest. Moderate to extreme fire behavior occurred overnight on the Smith River Complex, which now has burned more than 7,600 acres, the agency reported. The two fires threatening southwest Oregon are the Holiday and Kelly fires, which could merge soon, the Forest Service said.
