Staff Writer, Inside Philanthropy

Biography

My first work in journalism was with Michigan's LGBT newspaper, Between The Lines. After mostly leaving journalism to wander in the wilds of communications consulting, I came back in 2018. From then until joining Inside Philanthropy in early 2021, my byline appeared in outlets including Daily Kos (during its program that hired pro freelance journalists), The Appeal, and Blue Tent. Since 2021 I have primarily worked as a Staff Writer for Inside Philanthropy, covering issues including abortion rights/women's & girl's philanthropy, racial and economic justice, philanthropic reform, and the nonprofit burnout crisis.
