Multimedia journalist for Tampa's National Public Radio member station, WUSF 89.7 FM. Pronouns are they/them. I'm a general assignment reporter and multimedia journalist, doing everything from shooting photos and videos to creating audiograms and video stories for social media. I also produce stories for broadcast on the radio.

  By Daylina Miller| WUSF-FM (Tampa, FL) Verified When you walk into the Morean Clay Center, which is housed inside a renovated 1926 railway freight depot in St. Petersburg, the first thing you notice is a white wall covered with handprints in varying shades of brown. It's reminiscent of cave paintings. Around the room on cement pedestals and wall shelves you'll see hand sculptures, little clay animals and representations of transgender bodies.

• This seed program helps queer folks across the country sustain themselves and their community

  By Daylina Miller| WUSF-FM (Tampa, FL) Verified At Ashlee Craft’s Tampa Bay-area home, his screened-in back patio is swamped with plants of all shapes and sizes. From heirloom tomatoes to his personal plant family favorite — the Ficus — Craft believes so strongly in the mental health benefit of plants that they literally give them away. This year, with the help of a grant from the Trans Justice Funding Project, Craft started a seed program to help queer folks in particular have access to seeds and plant cuttings for free.

• Florida special election for seats in U.S. House underway

  By Daylina Miller| Florida Courier Verified The state of Florida is holding a special election today to fill two vacant seats in the U.S. House of Representatives. The election will determine who will represent the state’s Congressional Districts 1 and 6, replacing Republicans Mike Waltz and Matt Gaetz, who were both tapped by President Donald Trump as nominees for his administration. Waltz currently serves as the U.S. National Security Advisor. Gaetz was nominated for U.S. attorney general but withdrew from consideration.
