Biography

I have been in journalism in some form or another since 2016 but my desire to spread truthful and thought-provoking messages began long before then. I played a journalist in a school drama project at the age of 10 and wrote a weekly newsletter for my cousins about our imaginary world. At the age of 13 I began a YouTube channel to share my life and my friendships, but as I got older I decided to try and make more structured and researched content. At 22 I am a recent English Language graduate from the University of Manchester who has been heavily involved in the Students' Union since day one. I ran for Part Time Trans Officer in my first year and again in my third, which was when I was elected into the role. Alongside my studies I have also been writing and vlogging. I didn't write for the student newspaper as I always wanted to provide an alternative perspective from theirs. I have written for TenEighty, Her Campus, the University of Manchester student news, my own Medium page and I even got myself a byline in The Guardian whilst on work experience. I specialise in LGBTQ+ issues, especially trans issues, film, TV, student politics, new media and e-sports and gaming. I am excited to take the next step in my journalism career!
