I'm the garden editor at Sunset magazine and Sunset.com where I write about all things plants. I'm talking garden plants, house plants, best nurseries, houseplant tours, plant styling, plant care, plants you can eat, plants you can't, vegetable gardening, landscape and design, water-wise, fire-wise, flower farms, flower beds, and native plants -- lots of plants going on over here, okay?! I've been the West Coast editor of Elle, and a contributor at Harper's Bazaar, where I covered anything and everything that caught my eye. (That was my job. It was a cool job!) My byline has also appeared in Vanity Fair, Architectural Digest, Domino, Elle Decor, Hollywood Reporter, Variety, Los Angeles magazine, Allure, Glamour, Women's Health, Creaky Joints, Cosmo, Details and many more. I write personal essays and reported pieces. I cover decor, health, culture, pop culture, art, music, architecture, design, business, Hollywood, horticulture, and everything fascinating I can find. I’ve written about Why Not to Date George Clooney and What Happens When My Child Realizes I Have an Autoimmune Disease, and I’ve done more celebrity profiles than I want to count. (That said, sipping whiskey with Matthew McConnaughey while talking about the nature of the universe was exactly as great as it sounds.) As a screenwriter, I’ve staffed on some shows you most likely didn't watch (unless you're into hot elves, in which case we need to talk), and have written movies and pilots you’ve never seen because sometimes people Hollywood buy things that they don’t make the way the rest of us go to Michael’s to buy a macramé project that we don't finish. As an author, I’ve published two novels and have appeared in numerous anthologies. My latest, a children’s book called Please Don’t Read This Book!, is out now. So that's me as a writer. I do media training as well, where I draw on my deep well of experience as a journalist to teach clients how to tell the story they didn't even know they had. And I do content, too.
