  • Forge in the Forest to Close February 7

    By Deborah Luhrman Verified| Edible Monterey Bay Verified January 30, 2025 – Carmel’s legendary Forge in the Forest restaurant is set to close permanently February 7 after the current owners were unable to renew their lease. Founded in 1972, the restaurant is the second major closure in Carmel so far this year. Italian fine-dining venue La Balena served its last meal this week and owners made plans to relocate to Florence.
