Long before she began travel writing over fifteen years ago, great books inspired Debra Smith to travel. Now she loves to encourage others to explore along with her through her travel stories. She has written for the Globe and Mail’s Dreamscapes, the Postmedia network across Canada, Travel Life, AAA magazines (US), CAA AMA (Canada), US News & World Report Travel, Girl Camper, Vacay, Family Fun Canada, GoNOMAD, The Planet D and the UK’s Culture Trip and has reviewed hotels around the world for hospitality magazines. She also appears regularly as a hotel expert on The Informed Traveler, a local podcast. Debra is an Active-at-Large (Canada) of the Society of American Travel Writers. She has a BA from the University of Calgary in English and Fine Arts and studied Drawing at the Alberta University of the Arts
