Ken Knight was one of the first men through the gates. He spoke movingly about the experience to the Dorset Echo in 2003 when he was living in Sutton Poyntz, near Weymouth. Here we re-publish the interview with Ken, who passed away in 2007. On April 17, 1945, Ken Knight walked through the gates of hell.

The site, off the West Link Road, includes proposals for access, open spaces, landscaping and a green space. It adjoins a plot where almost 50 homes are currently under construction with more than half the new site to be given over to an area of permanent green space which will include a circular walking route and landscaping.
