  • 8 Books That Seek to Unsettle the Reader ‹ Literary Hub

By Kevin Lambert, Donald Winkler Verified| ET News@ Writing Querelle of Roberval, I needed to be surrounded by books that seek to disturb the reader. Books that are political, but not moral. Books that don’t fit the structure of giving a morality to the reader by introducing a lesson in its narrative progression. I find this approach reductive and unproductive from a literary point of view. As a kid, I had what adults used to call an oppositional “disorder.” I couldn’t stand paternalist attitudes that were telling me what to do or what to think.

Company Info

International Wine Review

The International Wine Review (IWR) was launched in 2005 to provide the wine trade (importers, distributors, retailers, sommeliers) and wine enthusiasts, with current, accurate information regarding important wines and regions of the world. Our publication is not just a list of wines with scores; we provide insight and understanding of viticulture and winemaking, appellations, wine styles, pairing food and wine, and market issues. IWR reports focus on regions and wines currently gaining market prominence. We offer all producers the opportunity to have their wines tasted and evaluated. We do not screen the wines we review. Many of the wines reviewed are available at our Recommended Retailers across the United States. Some of the wines we review are produced in such small quantities they may only be purchased directly from producers. To assist the reader in finding particular wines, we provide contact information for the producer, or importer. IWR reports are produced in collaboration with an expert Tasting Panel and Editorial Team. These individuals are among the most knowledgeable, experienced wine professionals in the industry. In addition, we often invite specialists from the trade to participate in selected tastings and reports. Our tasting panel follows the IWR Tasting Guidelines and Principles; we believe this distinguishes us from the tasting methodologies of other wine publications.
