Tissue cultures showed no growth at 4 and 6 weeks, respectively. The lesions were swabbed for bacterial and viral cultures. Bacterial culture was positive for methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA), Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and group C Streptococcus. Viral culture for herpes simplex virus (HSV) and varicella zoster virus (VZV) was negative.
