I’m certainly not the first person to call her one of the best cartoonists working today, but it bears repeating. Graham designs some of the most visually striking characters around and throws them into emotionally complex, unpredictable situations. Sometimes I think that book would look even better if I had been more rigorous about this process/approach. Other days, I feel like using sheets like this at all was sort of cheating.
