The Menendez brothers, who were one-time residents of Calabasas, were convicted nearly three decades ago of murdering their parents with shotguns in 1989 at the family’s mansion home in Beverly Hills. They were sentenced to life in prison without parole.

  • City combats plague of fire debris trucks

    By Eamon Murphy Verified| The Acorn Verified As dump trucks continuously ferry debris from the Palisades fire burn zone to the Calabasas Landfill off of Lost Hills Road, frustrated residents and city officials are struggling to mitigate the impacts of the heavy-duty traffic. At its April 9 meeting the City Council voted unanimously to widen an ordinance regulating truck parking—which previously did not apply to the kind of haulers being used for fire debris—and stopping the dozens that use Agoura Road, particularly at night.
