With many years of experience in the convenience store and grocery industries Ed leads Retail Technology client engagement projects for W. Capra Consulting Group providing strategic, operational, and project leadership to retailers, solution providers, and emerging businesses. He also conducts business development activities for the firm through trade publication articles, interviews, analysis, and blog postings as well as a speaker, moderator & facilitator at industry events. Ed has served the industry as Chairman of the Board of Advisors of Conexxus and as a member of their Board of Directors. He has also been a member of industry Point of Sale advisory groups and is an active member of the NACS Conference Content Committee. For much of his career Ed managed and supported store systems and technology teams and projects at leading retailers (The Pantry, Inc., Shaw’s Supermarkets & Purity Supreme). Under his leadership he focused on bringing system solutions to the business and directed several successful large initiatives including Point of Sale (POS), Back Office Reporting and Accounting, Workforce Management, and Fuel Pricing systems. His entrepreneurial experience ranges from long range strategic positioning to the integration of Information Systems into existing operations, start-up opportunities and significant growth through acquisition. He also co-founded Share The Blessings, Inc., a non-profit, with a charter to provide education and clean water to Ugandan villages.
