Kovar ran 1:57.45, just behind East Bernard's Daniel Breitenwischer, who finished in 1:57.34. Kovar advances to the Class 3A state meet in Austin in two weeks. Murray, who won the area meet last week with a height of 12' 7", cleared 12' 0" to win the regional meet. The second-place finisher was more than a foot back at 10' 9".
