(WGN) — A landscaper is being hailed a hero after he helped save the life of a driver whose vehicle veered off the road and into a pond in Naperville. Just before 10 a.m. Wednesday, the Plainfield Fire Protection District (PFPD), along with the Naperville Fire Department (NFD), responded to a report of a vehicle submerged in a pond near the intersection of Royal Worlington Drive and Route 59 in unincorporated Naperville.

Besnik Ismajlaj, a 53-year-old St. Charles resident, faces one misdemeanor count of carrying a concealed firearm at an airport. Police said the incident happened just before 1 p.m. Tuesday at O’Hare. Ismajlaj was taken into custody after a firearm was discovered in his bag. No injuries were reported.
