Lyoya, 26, was shot in the back of the head and killed by former Grand Rapids Police Officer Christopher Schurr, who has since been charged with second-degree murder. The fundraiser for the Salvation Army is at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, May 30, at the 3333 Stadium Drive Sweetwater’s Donut Mill. The first donut-eating contest is the Armed Services Showdown.
