    By Ella Ruehsen| Essex Reporter Verified CHAMPLAIN WATER DISTRICT — CWD will shut down its water treatment plant Wednesday, April 16, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. as necessitated by an ongoing construction project at the plant. The treatment plant shutdown will be full and comprehensive. In light of its temporarily scheduled plant dormancy, CWD is requesting all of its customers curb all non-essential water use, including both indoor and outdoor usage — dishwater, laundry, hoses and beyond.

    By Ella Ruehsen| Essex Reporter Verified ESSEX TOWN — The selectboard chose its newest member to serve as clerk this year at its meeting last Monday, April 7, during which the selectboard undertook its annual reorganization. Shannon Jackson, voted onto the board by residents on Town Meeting Day, was nominated for clerk by Ethan Lawrence and Andy Watts seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously, with Jackson’s status as clerk effective immediately.
