Biography
I'm guessing I should tell you more about myself then. I'm currently studying Sports Journalism at the University of Central Lancashire and in my 3rd year. Ever since I was young I always had a passion for sport, playing whatever was available, and when I started to enjoy my English at school, it dawned on me just how great it could be if I was able to combine the two together. From there I helped do match reports for a nearby paper and rugby club and slowly started to build up my contacts and develop my skills, all alongside doing my GCSEs of course! Moving into my A-Levels I kept up my work, and even managed to feature on radio once as well, confirming what I had always feared, I do have a face for radio. So that's eventually what I did and I'm still carrying out that very dream to this day through my course at UCLan and my role through Fylde RFC who I write the home match reports for. I hope you enjoy reading my pieces as much as I enjoy writing them and it would be great if you could join me on my journey.

By Elliot Burrow Verified|Lancashire Evening PostVerifiedDespite the weather being glorious, it took both teams a while to warm to the task, Fylde had their chances through breaks from Tom Grimes and Connor Wilkinson but failed to convert them, while the visitors were enjoying all their success in the scrums. The visitors scored the first points of the afternoon through a penalty goal only five minutes before half-time, but Fylde grabbed the opening try thanks to Tom Carleton, and soon found themselves 14-3 up after 42 minutes gone
By Elliot Burrow Verified|Blackpool GazetteVerifiedTom Carleton was at the centre of proceedings, scoring a hat-trick as Fylde made a number of changes from the team beaten a week earlier. With the sun out, Fylde again started the match in brisk fashion and put pressure on the Huddersfield line from the kick-off. They shipped the ball out to the left where Sam Stott crashed over from close range with barely a minute played. Adam Lanigan doubled Fylde’s lead as he started and finished a fine move
By Elliot Burrow Verified|Blackpool GazetteVerifiedFylde went into the game with five changes to the starting line-up that defeated Wharfedale a week earlier. Yet again, they began quickly though and didn’t take long to get up and running. Ben Turner wasn’t down to be in the squad until a late reshuffle saw Matt Sturgess miss out and Adam Lanigan retain his place at scrum-half. However, Turner proved his worth with a superb solo effort to dance through the Tynedale defence and beat the full-back for a try near the posts, converted by Greg Smith
