Police were called to a home on Toormina Place in Coffs Harbour around 6.45 am after reports a man's hand was severed. Paramedics then found a 59-year-old man at the scene with the gruesome injury. He was treated at the scene before being airlifted to John Hunter Hospital in a serious but stable condition.
