The closure is near the 84 mile marker on the highway, the Hawaii Police Department said in an announcement sent out at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 23. The department says motorists can use Kaiminani Drive to Highway 190 (upper road) and Waikoloa Road to travel between Waimea/Waikoloa and Kona.
