With over a decade in the media industry, Emmanuel Daraloye has seamlessly transversed Nigeria print and broadcast media. He wrote his first article in 2010, two years later, he started sharing his articles on Facebook and other mediums. In his first year (2015) at the University, he co-founded an online Newspaper which revolutionized information dissemination within the campus. Between year 2015 to 2019, he presented, co-presented programme on Arbico FM, Eki 100.9 FM (Ondo town) and King Sunny Ade Owned Music and Culture Radio, M&C, 106.5 FM (Ondo town). Since 2020, Emmanuel Daraloye has been fully documenting Afrobeats story via album reviews, interviews and articles. At the last count, he has written more than 1,000 album reviews. He's Africa’s Most Prolific Freelance Music Critic. Between June to July 2020, he was the music editor for MusicNolly. His Op-ed, comments, and views have appeared/ featured in Sahara Reporters, Cable News, Guardian Newspaper, Punch Newspaper, Tribune Newspaper, Legit, Modern Ghana, The Lagos Review, Vanguard Newspaper, Not Just Ok, and many more. In November 2024, he delivered a lecture during an University of Ibadan based media platform “Indy Press,” annual lecture series. In March 2025, he partnered with the University of Ibadan based new platform “Indy Press,” to organize an internship on Music Criticism. At the end of the exercise which ended on March 31, 2025, participants were awarded certificates. He is currently writing Afrobeats Best 1,000 albums. Yesterday, a plaque and document was sent to him. He achieved this extraordinary feat by sewing continuously for 106 hours, 55 minutes, and 20 seconds, from January 22 to January 26, 2024, in Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State. During the sewing marathon, Kuforiji used only a needle and thread throughout the marathon.
