Biography
I'm a freelance cybersecurity journalist covering all things digital security. I previously reported on cybersecurity for The Daily Dot, Politico, and The Messenger. Throughout my career, I've reported on how policymakers are approaching cybersecurity challenges and how cyber issues affect our everyday lives. I've covered fights over the encryption in our phones and messaging apps; struggles to keep hackers out of critical infrastructure like hospitals and election systems; and major data breaches, global malware outbreaks, and other high-profile cyber incidents. What interests me about cyber policy is the way the personal, social, political, and technical dimensions intersect. Hackers are people operating in a social context, often with political goals, using technical means. I think cybersecurity is one of the world's least appreciated policy areas. I bring to my work extensive experience with a wide variety of publishing, promotion, and communications platforms, including proprietary and open-source content management systems, social networks, message boards, and secure messaging services.
