Biography
I teach English as a New Language in a public middle school in the Bronx. Recently, I've found that writing narrative nonfiction about my experiences helps me process and make sense of my experiences in the classroom. My interests revolve around language in the classroom and the perspectives of my students, many of whom are new to the country. My writing background is in fiction. I received an MFA in fiction from the University of Florida and have published in numerous literary journals. I'm convinced that this narrative background helps shape my perspective into something unique among my colleagues. In my free time I also compose music for TV and film. It would be great to incorporate all of these skill sets into a huge project. I'm open to ideas!
