Biography
Thorough and creative writer, editor, and journalist with strong commitment to truthful storytelling. I have more than six years of writing, source building, and research experience, and have proven ability to distill complex topics into compelling stories. Talented in building trust, proceeding with curiosity, and gracefully juggling multiple projects and personalities, I am a skilled writer across formats, including print, digital, and social media. I came to writing while working as a musical theatre performer, and writing was one of the many side hustles I picked up to make some money between gigs. But writing was a gig that stuck. I loved its creativity, the excitement of meeting new people, and learning new things. I moved away from the entertainment industry to take a full time position that helped dancers and other pros transition from their creative work to work outside of the industry. I was really proud of the outreach work I did at The Actors Fund, and gratified to see artists empower themselves. In my writing world, I specialize in all things cannabis, especially hemp and CBD, but I also write a lot about psychedelics. I love to write about emerging research, policy, and law surrounding these substances. Other areas of interest are the opioid crisis, synthetic cannabinoids, land-use issues, and Latter-Day Saints and their intersection with substances like cannabis, ketamine, and psychedelics. Some work highlights include acting as a representative for The Actors Fund, speaking on panels discussing dance career transition. In the cannabis world, I have been a featured guest on the podcasts "The Let's Go Eat Show," and "In the Know 420." I have also appeared as a panelist for The Cannabis and Hemp Association speaking about hemp media.
