Biography
Laughter and derision were the common responses when I told people that I would become a writer. Looking at my byline on The Huffington Post, Chicago Tribune, Brazen Careerist, U.S. News University Directory and all the others, I enjoy a chuckle or two in honor of everyone who told me that writing wasn't a valid career choice. My professional career began with hunting down every freelance assignment I could get my hands on after graduation. Now, I continue to use that same tenacity to research stories, engage readers and create content that exceeds my clients’ expectations. To round out my skills, I began working at Bisk Education as an SEO link builder in the marketing department. Learning from excellent colleagues, my skills grew to include search engine optimization techniques like keyword research, blogger outreach and improving organic search placement. During my time as a link builder, I was able to incorporate writing into my position. As I gained link building success, I also grew my portfolio through guest blogging for websites like About.com, Monster.com and Simply Hired. Soon I was placed in a leadership role, training and mentoring new link builders. When I was promoted to digital content specialist, my focus shifted to creating, editing and promoting content. Not just any content. I write content that people want to share, blog posts that are easy to relate to and news articles that educate and enlighten. Moving to an editor position was my next step. Now along with my writing, I get to focus on content strategy, assigning stories and making sure the content my team produces fits into the larger goals for the company. Doing some freelance writing outside of my full-time work allows me to cover different industries and tell stories to new audiences. Writing never has been just a job to me. It never will be.

We believe it comes through a final conversation, an apology, or an explanation that helps both people understand why things ended. In some cases, particularly in amicable breakups, closure can feel real.
By Erin Palmer| The Courier (Newcastle University) Verified Can you tell me about grief relief and how it started? Becca: I lost my dad when I was 18 and was just two months into my first year of University. I really struggled and didn’t deal with it the best way. I turned to drinking and had a lot of messy nights out. I didn't have a healthy outlet for the way I was feeling. As I got older, I got more comfortable in talking about my grief and realised that was the best way to process my emotions. Without that, you bottle it up and it comes out in other ways.

From last-minute nights out, questionable text messages, or waking up with zero memory of how you managed to get home, it's easy to fall victim to self pity and crippling hangxiety the morning after.
