Biography

For more than a decade I’ve covered the interior design industry, including hundreds of design projects from across the globe, trends disrupting the industry and how current technology is changing the way professionals work and hone their craft. I’ve reported on how professionals handle challenges like trade shortages, issues in the supply chain and client education. I walked through the pandemic with the industry, watching how designers pivoted the way they worked to keep their businesses growing. When new technology and trends emerge, I’ve talked with professionals to find out what works and what still has room to improve. Design is more than just beauty, or what is in style now. It is more than art and more than self expression. I’ve learned throughout my career that design can have a dramatic impact on life. With the right interior spaces, humanity can have healthier lives full of potential. After spending my career in the B2B industry, I have moved to freelance to cover a wider expanse of reporting (as well as to stay home with my kids!) Along with still writing for B2B, I write for consumer publications geared for clientele, as well as working closely with designers to better communicate their craft.

  • Preparing for Black Friday 2023

By Erinn Loucks Verified| Dealerscope Verified Everything that goes up must come down. While staying at home, most consumers who invested in their properties have already bought the latest in TVs, speakers and smart home tech. Rising interest rates are diminishing the spending power of these same consumers. However, experts are pointing to more optimistic signs that this holiday season will not fail consumer tech retail sales; the bubble is not bursting quite yet.

  • RETAILER ROUNDUP: Evolving with Challenges and Possibilities

By Erinn Loucks Verified| Dealerscope Verified David Pidgeon, CEO, Star-Power:“The situation is certainly getting better, as demand has eased in many categories. However, it seems like many different industries still have a high demand for chips, which will continue to cause shortages not just for our industry, but other industries as well. I feel we are going to continue to see shortages for at least the next year to two years, although we are seeing more availability on the electronic side.
