City spokesperson Lauren Vastano told The Spectator that during the building process of a new home at 56 St. Matthews Avenue, the foundation of the neighbouring 54 St. Matthews Avenue “became compromised to the point that the house was imminently unsafe.”Vastano said that as a result of a professional engineer’s report, the home had to be demolished.
