Biography

Francis Tang is a trilingual journalist based in Tokyo. He is currently a reporter covering Japan's domestic news at The Japan Times, the nation's oldest, most widely-read English newspaper. Prior to joining The Japan Times, Francis interned at Reuters Tokyo Bureau via Overseas Press Club Foundation fellowship. He was a 2023 recipient of the Overseas Press Club Foundation Scholar Award and the foundation’s David R. Schweisberg Memorial Scholarship. He is a member of the Overseas Press Club of America and the Asian American Journalists Association. Francis graduated from Syracuse University’s Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs in 2023. He holds a B.A. in political science with a Japanese studies minor.
