Volgens het document kan de spreidingswet, die de verdeling van asielzoekers over het land regelt, niet eerder worden ingetrokken, omdat de huidige afspraken tot 31 januari 2026 lopen. Eerder afschaffing zou volgens minister Faber ‘afbreuk doen’ aan de verwachtingen die zijn gewekt richting gemeenten.
