The Texas Fish Art Contest is an effort by Texas Parks and Wildlife to expose students to fishing and conservation through creativity. Texas Parks and Wildlife announced that Alyssa Trevino of Pharr is this year’s Special Species Award Winner. Trevino’s art showcased the Guadalupe Bass, the official state fish of Texas.
By Gabriela Gonzalez Verified, Gabriela González| KVEO-TV (Brownsville, TX) Verified DONNA, Texas (ValleyCentral) — One person was cited Monday for crashing into a Hidalgo County Sheriff deputy unit. The crash happened before 7:30 p.m. Monday on the westbound Frontage Road east of FM 493 in Donna. According to the Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office, a deputy was assisting a driver on the side of the frontage when the unit was rear-ended. At the time of the crash, the deputy had the patrol unit emergency lights activated. No injuries were reported.
