In a press briefing on April 16, Mr Yeo paid tribute to Mr Sitoh. “He’s a dear mentor of mine, and I’ve learned many lessons in community leadership and service for him,” he said. He added that he started volunteering in Potong Pasir in 2013. Mr Yeo said he is returning to Potong Pasir after serving in Aljunied.

Announcing campaign guidelines on April 15, ELD said the rules related to online campaigning would protect prospective candidates who have paid their election deposit and consented to their candidature being made public.
