Gary Dinges covers bars/restaurants, movies, music, radio and TV -- plus a bunch of other fun stuff -- for the Austin American-Statesman. He joined the American-Statesman in 1999 and has, over the years, worked as editor of austin360.com, a content producer on statesman.com, editor of the Lake Travis View community newspaper and a copy editor/page designer. A native of The Woodlands, just north of Houston, and a graduate of the University of Texas, Gary began his journalism career while still in high school, working as a reporter at The Woodlands Villager newspaper. While Mom and Dad are quite proud of the many awards Gary has won, they're not listed here because he’s pretty sure you couldn't care less.
