  • Former councilman Davis is Manvel's new mayor

    By Gayla Murphy| The Facts Verified MANVEL — Former council Dan Davis has won the mayoral seat with almost two-third of the vote. Davis earned 957 votes, or 64.23 percent, to defeat Councilwoman Lorraine Hehn, who received 332 votes, or 22.28 percent, and Brazoria County NAACP leader Eugene Howard, who collected 201 votes or 13.49 percent,  according to unofficial results released Saturday night by the Brazoria County Elections office. Results are unofficial until canvassed.
