ALL ABOUT ME Howdy. I'm Geoffrey John Davies, I head up The Violin Channel’s classical music news, media, and streaming platform. I personally started The Violin Channel in 2009 in Australia and today, we're posting and uploading fast and furiously from the West Village of New York City. Now 17 staff strong, we've since grown to become one of the most influential voices in the international classical music scene. THE NUMBERS Across our site, as well as our English and Chinese social media channels, app, site notifications, and email newsletter, as of January 2022, The Violin Channel now has well over 1,000,000 daily followers and subscribers. The possibilities for fantastic and relevant content going viral is x-fold. COLLABORATORS The Violin Channel has been appointed as an official global media partner of the Kronberg Academy, the Menuhin Academy, the New World Symphony, and the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center — plus notable global events including the Menuhin, Queen Elisabeth, Indianapolis, Wieniawski, Joseph Joachim, Sibelius, Montreal, Michael Hill, and the ARD International Violin and Cello Competitions. Our close collaborators also include The Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, Carnegie Hall, The Juilliard School, the New England Conservatory, the Curtis Institute of Music, The Colburn School, The New York Philharmonic, Warner Classic, and Wigmore Hall, among many others. FUN I love Marie's Crisis piano bar in New York City and made a small appearance in the 2018 short-film documentary. I named my dog 'Elgar' — after my favorite composer. I eat out every night as I store coffee pods and Diet Coke in my oven.
