My name is Giuliana Grillo de Lambarri, a candidate for a Bachelor of Arts in journalism and political sciences from Peru. I love working as a journalist because it gives me the chance to talk to people and hear their different perspectives, lived experiences and opinions. It makes me feel accomplished to come out of an interview knowing I gained a deeper understanding of the person across the room or on the other side of my screen. My job as the news editor at The Aquinian lets me do just that. I get to contact members of the community at Fredericton and elsewhere and I hear them out. Then, I write an article that goes to inform the very people that are impacted by it. I also get to work with an amazing team of writers and help them grow and improve their writing skills. What a wonderful way of serving this community.
