It’s been used in countless textbooks, parodied, and paid homage to in so many pieces of art and media, it boggles the mind. But it’s also a drastic oversimplification of what happened. Humans did not rise from apes.

And while vegetarians and vegans argue that we no longer need meat, the current medical consensus is that we very much benefit from it, and it’s the easiest way for us to get iodine, iron, zinc, and vitamins, as well as many fatty acids that make it easier to absorb fat-soluble nutrients.
