There were the legitimate trips to spend a few weeks or months with my father, but that was just to wherever he was stationed at the time, Texas and later, Korea. The kind of travelling I am talking about was to even more exotic locales: Barsoom, Hyboria, Atlantis, Middle-Earth, Pellucidar, Kregen, Gor, Lemuria, Lankhmar and the lost valley of Iskander among other places. And those were just the books.
