Biography
I am an English, Arabic, and French-speaking journalist and producer with current affairs background currently working freelance, principally for Euronews. I have experience in the newsroom and writing news copy, as well as data and OSINT analysis. In the past decade I have worked in and run teams, writing and leading independent research work, so I have grown to be versatile in different working environments. For November and December, I will be in the US covering the elections and aftermath, and will be based in Cairo from early 2025.

By Gregory Holyoke| Euronews Verified Violent clashes broke out last week in the Syrian coastal governorates of Tartus and Latakia between government forces and “non-state armed groups” loyal to the ousted former President Bashar al-Assad. The two governorates have a high population of Alawites, a minority group from which the al-Assad family hails.
