Law enforcement says the plot of land at Crist Avenue and De Long Street has been a problem area for years, but it’s recently gotten out of control with 64 structures, 54 occupants, nearly 20 dogs, and seven cars. “You come down Highway 99, and this is what you see. This is not what Merced is about,” said Merced County’s PIO Mike North.
