Biography

I am an NCTJ-accredited journalist based in Birmingham, England. Following the completion of my Masters in Journalism at Kingston University, I worked for media agencies for over three years. While employed at press agencies, I produced digital video content for distribution to a 5 million strong YouTube account, as well as for platforms like Facebook Watch and Snapchat. Furthermore, I produced exclusive stories for global distribution to print and digital publications. I also gained some experience working as a casting producer for TV shows at one of the media agencies. I also licensed user-generated content, including viral videos, for distribution to press. In 2019, I went freelance in order to expand my work beyond real-life features. Since leaving my last job, I have been published in publications like Bustle, Huffington Post UK, Telegraph, Metro UK, Restless Magazines and the i paper. My work primarily focuses on opinion articles, physical and mental health, disability and sex. I have also worked consistently as a press representative. My first job as a press representative was for a charity advocating for a condition that I actually live with. The job involved running awareness month campaigns twice a year and coordinating press throughout the rest of the year. I also facilitated a series of photoshoots for a campaign project aimed at highlighting the many faces of the condition. Later, I became communications and social media manager for another company. I coordinated press coverage, organised, filmed and photographed a campaign project, ran social media accounts, wrote proposals for new projects and reviewed copy for various projects. I have also successfully coordinated a press campaign for a small business owners Kickstarter project. With widespread coverage, the project was fully funding.
