By Hart Pisani Verified| Joliet Herald-News Verified JOLIET – The final result of Wednesday night’s baseball game between Dwight and Serena wasn’t too hard to predict. The Trojans entered the game with as many wins as the Huskers had losses, so the 5-1 final score in favor of Dwight didn’t take anyone by surprise. A day after handing Minooka just its second loss of the season, Joliet West earned a home victory over Bolingbrook 8-6 on Tuesday.

The Warriors advanced to the sectional finals where they ultimately lost to the eventual state champion Providence Catholic Celtics. Still, they finished with the Herald-News Player of the Year (Conor Essenburg) and plenty of hope for the future. Fast forward to 2025. The future is now, and man is it bright. The Warriors have opened up the season with an 11-game win streak and are outscoring opponents 131-28.
