I love writing, sports and social media. If I'm able to do something that's any combination of those things, I'm happy. In 2015, I became one of six in-game social media coordinators in Major League Baseball, updating Twitter for the Minnesota Twins. I'm a reporter, with a background in a variety of areas, including city government, education, crime, features and general assignments. Though I love sports, I'm much more of a spectator than an athlete, which goes along well with reporting because reporters observe. I didn't play many sports, but I love to watch them. It's so rewarding to see the great stories that come out of sports. I've worked at three newspapers in Greater Minnesota. I've built up my portfolio with a variety of freelance opportunities including covering state high school tournaments and writing feature stories for the Star Tribune. I've maintained my own sports blog, Thoughts from the Stands, for a few years now. It's always interesting to meet new people and hear their stories.
