One proposal is to cut more than $10 million from the budgets for the fire and police departments. The Phoenix Fire Department answers close to half a million calls per year. They say they need all the resources they can get, but city leaders may have no choice but to cut the fire and police budget, at least temporarily.

Temps will stay in the mid-90s, which is around 10 degrees warmer than normal for this time of year. Due to dry conditions and wind gusts of up to 40 mph, a Red Flag Warning remains in effect through 8 p.m. today for southern and eastern Arizona and areas east of Phoenix.
