This multidisciplinary team began a quality improvement project to address the increased tracheostomized patient census during COVID-19. The aim was to implement recommendations based on the 2021 American Association for Respiratory Care (AARC) Clinical Practice Guideline (CPG)2 for care of tracheostomized patients in their acute care setting.
