Starting with a question about symptoms, such as: “Burning or stinging when you wee? Need to wee all the time?” It then directs people to their local pharmacy, where they can get immediate advice and treatment without needing to see a GP first.

Services for rare or complex conditions will be planned, purchased and provided locally. Our aim is to offer care that is more connected and closer to home. This change comes from the May 2022 Roadmap for Integrating Specialised Services within Integrated Care Systems. It is supported by the Health and Social Care Act 2022 and was reaffirmed by the NHS England Board in December 2024.
