On Friday, SA Health said the 28-year-old male from a regional area had been diagnosed with invasive meningococcal disease identified as serotype B. He is the 13th case of meningococcal this year, compared with 11 cases at this time in 2023. No one has died of the disease in 2024, with one death from it last year.
