Biography

After completing my A-levels in 2022, I decided to take a Gap Year. I took my first steps into the journalism industry from the first month, when I ventured to Manhattan. Spending 6 weeks at the School of the New York Times did not only teach me the foundations of journalism and a good interview, but expanded my mind to the world around me, and I began to develop a love for meeting people from different backgrounds and learning their stories which can be so different from my own. Later in my gap year, I completed two work experience placements at both the Daily Echo and the Salisbury Journal, where I wrote a number of articles spanning across different genres, from press releases, to wartime stories, to vox pops across the city, and interviewing people affected by a nearby fire. As of September 2023, I have begun studying towards my NCTJ Diploma in journalism at Highbury Campus, Portsmouth. I aim to achieve Gold Standard and ultimately fulfil my goal of working in the realm of broadcast journalism in the future.
