Jack R. Nerad is the host of the Sports Byline Radio Network show “America on the Road” and a prolific freelance writer/car reviewer whose work regularly appears at JDPower.com, USNews.com, Capital One, and Driving Today. Well-respected by his auto journalist peers, he is currently President of the Motor Press Guild and Vice President of the North American Car of the Year jury. Nerad has written several books, including The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Buying or Leasing a Car and The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Hybrids and Alternative Fuel Vehicles. His book Fatal Photographs is the definitive examination of the famed bathing-suit model murder case. The GR Factor shows how the undeniable power of the Golden Rule can reap benefits in every situation. His latest release is Only One Thing Stays the Same, a crime novel that leverages his lifelong interest in true crime. Nerad has been involved in the automotive and communications industries all his working life. He began his writing career at 17 as a sportswriter for Chicago-area newspapers, and he quickly moved into the magazine field. He has served as Editor of Motor Trend magazine, Automotive Age magazine (now Dealer Business), Home Center magazine, and J.D. Power and Associates’ The Power Report. Nerad has won numerous awards and honors for his writing, including a Maggie nomination for Best Feature Article of the Year, the magazine industry equivalent of an Oscar nomination. His radio program, “America on the Road,” was honored by the International Automotive Media Conference as the best automotive program or publication in the nation.
